Walled Garden Community Cafe
The idea of a community shop in Little Plumstead was first suggested in late-2016. Plumstead Community Shop Ltd was set up to bring this idea to fruition. The Walled Garden Community Shop and Café will be built within what was once the walled garden of Little Plumstead Hall, in the process restoring the garden to its former Victorian splendour.
Public consultation showed the demand for a community-owned shop. The café will be a convenient meeting place and the walled garden a great setting for community events. The garden will also grow fresh produce which will be sold in the shop.
TEN Creative is a Norwich-based design agency, specializing in branding, marketing and promotion for a wide range of clients across public, private and voluntary sectors. Clients include NPS Group, NHS, Norfolk County Council, Open Trust, Heritage Collective and Comm-tech.
Norfolk ProHelp had already supported the project by providing a quantity surveyor to provide an accurate estimate of the capital cost of building through NPS Group and we were happy to continue the support when they approached us looking for help with their logo design. TEN Creative which, like NPS is part of the Norse Group, came forward and provided a selection of logo designs with the final decision made by the community.
“Thanks so much to Mark Holden and Ten Creative who totally ‘got’ the project from the start and came up with some great logo options for us. We’re really happy with the final design, that was voted for by the local community and will, amongst other things, help to give our communications a more professional look going forward. ”
Sophie Harrison, The Walled Garden Community Shop and Café
The project delivered a professionally designed logo that:
• Will be used on all our communications and hopefully eventually on the shop and café signage.
• Appeals to a wide variety of people – from potential funders to local residents of all ages and backgrounds
• Reflects the main USP of the project – that it will be situated inside a restored Victorian walled garden
• Helps shows potential funders that we have the backing of local organisations and are fully committed to this project
“We were really excited to be a part of this new cafe and shop project as it not only helps to add to the Little Plumstead local community, but it also helps revitalise a great piece of history. Overall we wanted to create a logo that had the qualities of community spirit and heritage with a modern aesthetic. Our aim was to create an identity that the Little Plumbstead community would identify with, admire and ultimately be proud of.”
Mark Holden, TEN Creative
